allriightyyyyy, so I just want to clarify how the desicions will be sent outt/notified. So for exeter, at 6 am they'll send an email ANDpost your admission status on lionlinks rightt?? This being whether it's a acceptance/rejection/waitlist riight?? Also, if they send a PACKET not an envelope in the mail, that means that you're in riight...or will they just send envelopes for whatever your outcome mayy be.

the same goes for andoverr, will they post the results on myandover and send an email out, annd at what time???? And with the post mail, I understand that it'll be coming in fedex so is this for acceptances and rejection/waitlists??? Andd again the packet thingg, do ALL ACCEPTANCES come in packets and ALL WAITLISTS/REJECTIONS come in envelopess????

thanks in advance everyone and I wish you guys all the best of luckk!!! Haha I wish we could all just get in!! Oh and when you respond PLEASE don't respond with links or anything because I'm on my phone and that just makes things a little difficult for things like thatt. Anyways, thanks again everyone and I hope what's best turns out for you guys!!! :)

nooonoonono!!
Exeter only sends and email, and I believe it is a 6am
Andover does not have and onlince decision, but it FedExes acceptances, I don’t know about R/WL
I also don’t know about the packets

last year, andover acceptances came late and came at irregular times… they did that the year before too, so don’t rip out your eyebrows if you don’t get your acceptance package (hint hint) on march 10th, or the 11th, or the 12th…

Just a bit of hope to those who get the regular mail WL letter. Applied as a sophomore/boarder. My d got the WL letter and we updated regularly her grades, awards, etc. She also wrote a letter (mailed) saying that she appreciated being waitlisted and how much see wanted to remain on the waitlist. We got the phone call 7/2( yes JULY!) she was accepted with 80% Financial Aid. So hang in there and keep in contact with whoever in administration you have a relationship with (or form one).
GOOD LUCK!! Great school and she is doing VERY well- but it is a HUGE adjustment

Also she was WL at Exeter and we forgot to take her off of WL there. And we did get a acceptance call mid July as well. Only 2 schools she applied to. So the WL is NOT the end of the road.

Certainly my daughter’s WL letter came a few days after the 10’th. Unfortunately, Andover took few off the wait list; their yield was unexpectedly high, and they had to scramble to find 10 places to put beds (according to the Phillipian).

Also, as I’ve pointed out elsewhere, FedEx implies overnight; but in fact are at least 6 different services, anywhere from first airplane out to next morning, to one week ground (all of which have caveats about whether they are physically able to get things to the location you specify). I doubt if Andover would spring for the most expensive of these; most likely would be the regular next day service, or 2 day service. Fried’s note implies that they went to FedEx on time last night; I’d expect most would arrive today or tomorrow depending on what service they bought and where you live.

BusterDad, I thought your daughter is applying this year. No? and I believe they use “priority overnight” so most of the acceptances should arrive sometime this morning.

I am pretty sure my d coming off the WL was because someone backed out. There is absolutely no “overcrowding” She is in a large 2 room double in a highly desirable dorm with an alumni child who decided in August that she would come to PAA after deferring/rejecting her acceptance. BTW in my d class 13+ ppl have left PAA for several reasons before Winter term. This is her class alone- not sure about the others.

andovermom: I think Andover has enough “slack” (particularly since the combined Abbot/Andover school was slightly larger than today’s Andover) that A was able to find the 10 or so places to put kids without the result being bad. None the less, A took fewer people off the wait list last year than in most years.

Then again, that’s exactly how waitl ists are supposed to work.

Glad you d made it; we await the FedEx guy.

ppl is people- 13 people (girls & boys- boarders and international) from her “grade” left during and after fall term. My d is an out of state boarder
