A class with multiple GEs, how is that applied?

There are classes with several GE’s such as LDA1 (6 GEs) or AMS30 (5 GEs).
1- Can this be applied towards all the GEs or how is applied?

2- Also, can I chose which GE to apply it to?

3- If I am in Biological sciences, what happens if I take a GE class in SE (and only SE)?

Thank you

1) A class can only count towards one topical breadth and one core literacy. The exception is a class used towards the English Composition requirement, which cannot count towards a topical breadth.

2) Short answer: yes. You don’t have to do anything on your part, though. As long as there’s some combination of your courses that satisfies all the GE’s, you’re set.

3) You can only have a maximum of 20 units towards any topical breadth, and your major would cover that 20. So the class would only count for units towards graduation.

Thank you very much, JeSuis.
This is very good to know.
