A College Forum

Why doesn't my college have one?

a Forum where all University of Michigan students can simply log in adn post

about every class possible, every major, every activity

Anything.

what would be the plan to create one for my school ?

or is this a stupid idea.

Hey, here's the forum for the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/forumdisplay.php?f=47

Is that what you mean, or do you mean a forum on the Michigan website itself?

no, a BIGGER forum used basically only by the school's kids...more in depth and stuff

my school doesn't have that either

Because your college is technologically inept. Or because they're poor. Or because there is no need.

I have never heard of your college before. Is it public?

^^ You've never heard of Michigan before!!? =O

I think most institutions refrain from hosting online forums because they don't want to be responsible for the stuff that happens in them. Trust me, I used to run a forum and it could get pretty tough to manage at times, and I never passed 200 members, as opposed to a Michigan forum which would have at least a few thousand.

Wait...really?! Huh...

chanman,

Try talking to the administrators for the school's computer services. UCLA has one that's linked to the MyUCLA student system, and you may be able to get one attached to the Michigan system as well. If not, try starting your own and see how that goes. There may be enough interest to fuel its growth and eventual integration into the Michigan system as well.

Does anyone know if there is one for PSU?

I started one, and it's integrating into Michigan's system, just talked with the student government 3 days ago!

Nice! Every college needs its own forum. I salute you, sir.

UCLA one doesn't have archives right?

To the best of my knowledge, no.
