A complete guide to getting your Equivalence certificate

@Karma2343 no unfortunately you can’t. E is the last eligible grade for an equivalence.

so If I apply with these grades do I stand a chance of getting accepted(provided that I do much much better on the entrance tests)?
and what do you mean by “merit”, are you referring to the grades in gcse and a levels or entrance tests?

@ssbz99 definitely yes. You need to ace the entry test!
By merit I mean the calculations done to shortlist the students which includes a certain percentage for o/a level which is 25% and 15%. Almost 40-60% test. Rest is interview if applicable in unverisity. Like in NUST, the test takes 75% of the merit

DearFriends

I would like to ask a matter about my brother,

He has done O level (IGCSE) first year in UAE, due to some reason we have to move to Pak, after that he continued his 2nd year O level (IGCSE) from Roots International School and completed with 6 subjects.

Information and communication Technology (B) Grade
First Language English (D) Grade
Urdu As a second language (A) Grade
Physics (A)
Maths (A)
Chemistry (A)

Now he wants to apply in NUST, How do we calculate equivalence and apply?

Thanks

Hello this is Muhammad raza My Olevels grades were A*AAABBBC and my alevels Grades are DDE what will be my ibb equivalency

@Rixvi2281 79%

Yes.
On the IBCC form it says that if you complete either one of OL or AL in Pakistan, then you have to complete OL Urdu, Islamiyat and Pak. Studies. The form is available on the IBCC website. Check the section of “Requirements for British Qualifications”.

@MahamK
Your situation is a bit complicated. Normally the requirement is that if you do OL or AL or both in Pak then you do need Urdu, Islamiyat and Pak Studies. But you are doing only one subject here. The best way to find out is to visit your nearest IBCC office as they don’t receive any calls. This is the only way to confirm this. Maybe you can explain them your situation and they might exempt you who knows lol. Hope this helps.

I have 2 Alevels subjects and 2 As level subjects, will i get the alevels equivalence?

@Ehtisham234 no it’s not possible. 3 subjects is the requirement. You can’t get it even on 3 AS subjects. They must be 3 A Levels.

Hi, I wanted to know I got D D e (small) in my A level. Am I applicable for my equivalence to be made?

Hello, hope you’re well. I wanted to ask you that I have completed my Olevels with 8 subjects with the 8th being Addmaths. I did not give Bio or Computer in my Olevels, now my question is that will Addmaths be accepted by HEC for my equivalency or no? Because a few of my friends tell me that addmaths is not accepted by HEC. Could you help me out, Ill really be grateful. Thank you

@hannan800 yes you are since you don’t have a U grade but equivalence with these grades won’t be enough for any good future prospects, please keep that in mind

Kindly visit the IBCC’s office at earliest for the solution to this issue

@linkinpark96 I have 1 A*, 1 D and 1 e(small e which means, cleared As level only) in Alevels, can I get equivalence?

@Saad345 no you can’t. You need three A Level. AS level is not eligible for equivalence, I am sorry

Hi have you made your equivalence and did IBCC accept the double award science for chemistry physics and biology ? and did they ask you for individual unit marks for bio chem and physics ?

Hi. So I gave my 7 O levels subjects under a name that wasn’t on my cnic at the time by accident and gave 1 O Level with the name that was on my CNIC. So instead of correcting my certificates, I changed my name on my CNIC but now British Council won’t change my name in one certificate to my new CNIC name. I am already in a university and I also gave my A levels under my new CNIC name which goes with the 7 O levels. So if I gave an exam now, under my new CNIC name, after my A levels and while I am in university, will it cause problems in equivalence and my future studies? I need guidance.

Hi. I gave my chemistry exam in 2018 and i passed with not a really good grade. I was suppose to give my physics exam in 2019 so i decided to improve my chemistry grade as well but unfortunately i got (e) which meant i only passed AS level. On IBCC website they have mentioned for A level equivalence a student must have passed 3 subjects with minimum E grade which i have.
Will i be able to get my equivalence for A levels even though i wasn’t able to clear the second time?
Please help!

Yes you’ll be able to get it even for EEE. But all of them must be A Level results, not AS. If that’s true then you’re good to go.
