a confused soul from USA --> UK?maybe

basically I finally finished the UCAS application (I'm only applying to Oxford/LSE) and I am confused about a couple of things... if you could answer that be... the most wonderful thing in the world

are we sending transcripts to these schools? if so... to what address? is there one we can find? no?yes?maybe? because i didn't list my courses anywhere in UCAS except for AP's

when do we find out a decision?..do we find a decision?

are we required to go to UK for an interview?

...seriously thank you so much if you answer these because I am just.. confused out of my mind

If the schools require a transcript, they will contact you or your referee and ask for it. You do not need to just send it.

You will find out a decision from LSE when Track updates with either an offer or a rejection. I don’t know how quickly they generally process applications. I believe with Oxford, you will get a letter in the post with your decision sometime right before Christmas. Although since you are in America, it may come after Christmas.

I am uncertain about interviews for Oxford and LSE, but they generally do not require international students to fly to the UK for interviews.

No. The UCAS form is your entire application. If a univeristy wants further information from you, they will ask for it. Commonly this is a piece of school work graded by a teacher. They rarely ask for transcripts.

See post above. Oxford send a thin envelope as a Christmas present to you :)

Until this year there have been interviews in the US. But they are cancelled due to the credit crunch. So I am not sure if you will be required to go to the UK. It may be yes. But the situation with not interviews in the US hasn’t happened in previous years, so who knows. Sometimes they do phone interviews.

I advise you to email Oxford university about the interview.

The UCAS application is due by October 15h, 2009. You do not need to submit transcripts or certificates at this stage, though they may be requested later, in which you will receive a letter providing you with an address of where it should be sent.

Also, you will be notified by email/ letter as to whether or not you have been invited for an interview. These notifications should be expected at the end of November or early December. Interviews take place at the college you applied to. And you will be told whether or not you have been accepted by mid January.

Good luck!
