I'm reviewing all my forms for the final time before I submit them, and there are still a few things where the wording confuses me . . . if anyone could help me clarify, that would be great. Thank you!

1) The form says:
"If you will have completed a transferable college course in mathematical concepts and quantitative reasoning prior to transfer, list it below: "
I'm taking math 52 (statistics) in the spring. Should I list it even though I completed the four years of high school math that UCs usually require (well, they ask for three)? Or is this a different requirement?

2) When it asks what system your campus is on, I think the closest thing for SMC is "Semester with Winter Session". However, SMC has summer session as well. I took some summer courses there during high school, and although they aren't shown among my fall09/spring2010 classes on my update form, they are still on my application, right?

3) When the application asks us to check if we have "I have completed other college-level coursework outside a California community college", this includes AP credits, right??

Any help would be appreciated, I don't want to do my final submission until I've resolved all these issues!
Thanks!

1) You still need a transferable math class even if you took the high school math classes. The only thing that matters about high school if you transfer as a junior is your AP tests and your language classes (as far as i can tell). Yep, put the math down in that section.

2)I took a class over the summer and it is not listed on the application update as well. That’s because they don’t need an update for that class as i already gave them the grade. I presume it is the same with you.

3) I just looked for this check box and couldn’t find it. Is it on the UC update or the berkeley update or the original application? Anyway, i would guess that AP does not count. But that’s just me

hmm… i see it now. AP is technically college level, isn’t it? Now i’m kinda confused about that too!!! I already mentioned my ap classes in the comments box though, so i don’t think it’s a big deal either way.

I suppose you could check the box, then mention that the only coursework you have taken outside of a ccc is AP coursework. That way they don’t mistakenly think you went to a different college.

Also, your US History/US Gov’t classes count toward the AH&I UC Graduation requirement.

Mike is right about 1 & 2

3) AP Tests are not “coursework.” As you know, you don’t get any credit for taking an AP class. You get the credit for taking the AP Exam. People take the exams without taking the HS class for it. So no, it is not college-level coursework.

Additionally, the Berkeley rep told me to put my UC-Transferable Units in the table, and put the AP tests in the comments box.

1 Your four years of HS math mean nothing now, unless u have AP scores to carry them over, use the math 52

2 Everytime of system is presumed to have a summer session, but only certain schools have winter session, which is why it is distinguished form just semester, so if ur school is semester and does a winter session, select that one. ur summer courses will be on ur original application.

What if the school does a winter session but I didn’t take any classes during it? And if the “other college-level coursework” doesn’t mean AP tests, what does it mean?

it wont affect if u, if u decided not to take classes for winter session, thats considered optional in the way that summer session is. other college level-course work means, at another univerisity (CSU, UC, Private, out-of-state)

and in row 14 on the berkeley update for gpa, it says to only include in progress or pass/no pass classes . . . so that means don’t include planned classes?
