Can I start my common app for enrollment in 2015? It won't be wiped right?
I may have more questions...but this one is the most important because I want to start.

I believe they don’t open for next year’s applicants until sometime in the summer (late july to mid august if I remember correctly). This doesn’t mean you can’t get started, however. They have already announced that they will be keeping the common app essay questions and many schools announce their supplement questions on their website ahead of time. In addition, you can work on your resume, teacher recommendations, and all that good stuff in the mean time. I don’t know if you can still create an account and login at the moment - but if you can you can see what you need, but I don’t believe it will count until it reopens in the summer

The current Common App counselor update says that a paper version will be available for students like you. The paper version is just for drafting and not for actually submitting to any colleges. The essay topics will stay the same as this year, so you can get going on essay drafts.
What you should not do is enter information online to this year’s Common App, because your data will get deleted and you will have wasted your time.

Okay thank you guys. I won’t work on that until August then, I’m applying for other things…
What about FAFSA?
I know that starts Jan 1st?

Yeah those forms don’t open until then - but you can look up general things you need. (May be different for EA?) Off of the top of my head, definitely tax returns and such. My family had alot of trouble with CSS and FAFSA as they didn’t get all of the materials prepared ahead of time and they had to request certain forms from insurance companies and whatnot. I don’t know the specifics, but make sure you have everything. Take a google search if you’re not sure.

Well my mom has her tax returns for 2014, my dad is in another country and doesn’t work.
