A curious question.

I went on a campus tour from CA to see what Cornell is like.

Under requirments for CAS, it says "campus tour and information session are very recommended and encouraged."

Does the admission staff know that I visited Cornell and did the campus tour and the info session when he is looking at my application? Would he look me up and see if I did the tour? Or does he even consider the visit?

I've heard that it does and but then some say no. So I want to make it clear.

Thanks

At the info session they have you fill out a form...and in my mind that can't be for nothing. But in truth I really have no clue.

Either in the application essays or in a cover letter, you will want to explain why you want to attend Cornell, and in doing so, mention your visit.

They do keep track of who visited, and often send follow-up materials later.
Touring a college is one way of showing your interest and as a reminder, like odyssey says, it's a good idea to mention your visit when you apply.

There are students who throw safety applications at schools they haven't visited and often those schools will accept less qualified candidates who HAVE visited, in order to try and keep their yield numbers up.
