A Day at Andover

What should I wear to A Day at Andover this Saturday? A coat and tie or more casual? They said dress causual for the interview, but everyone was in coat & tie (including me). Did anyone go last year? What did you wear? Or if you are going this Saturday…what are you wearing?

From last year’s invite:

I went last year (and I’m going again) and I wore something that I guess could be categorized as formal. Last year I saw most students wearing khakis and blazers. Girls either wore a formal dress/coat or jeans. It was mostly semi-formal.

Should you be there if you apply? My son is very busy on other stuff, I don’t think he want to be there.

Last year about a thousand people showed up (no kidding). They will hardly remember you. Just wear something comfortable. Last year it snowed, so be prepared for anything.

As mentioned above, the weather stunk last year. Walking from the Smith Center to the Chapel and back was not exactly fun. I was in snow boots, black jeans, and a navy and white striped sweater-shirt thing with my winter coat. (What is it with girls’ clothing? I never know if it’s a sweater, a shirt, a blouse, or something with a new name I haven’t heard of.)

Vivien Mallick tweeted a photo of everyone sitting in the Chapel during Mr. Palfrey’s presentation. I could barely even recognize myself with so many cute faces in the audience!
