It is 7:28 and dark. I am currently sitting beside the window and tired; moments ago, a train just passed by.

It has been a long time since many of us have entered the world of prep school admissions, and no doubt it's already had a strong effect on many of our lives.

I hope, when 2011 comes, we remember not only how far we have to go, but how far we've come. A journey, like time, is nonlinear--unbiased to any certain point is must achieve. It is chaotic and haphazard, like an ink blot spreading from all sides. And even though we tend to choose only one of them, we have an infinite number of moments succeeding every single moment, for good or for bad.

In short: whether this venture into prep school succeeds or not, new doors will open for us. And we'll always have a chance to live them out--even if it's not exactly what we wanted.

I hope we continue to run, if a little against the wind.

I hope we continue to look out into the unknown scenery from lit windows, even if it is raining and there's not much we can see.

I hope we remember, whether good news or bad--the journey doesn't end when the train stops.

-

Sorry for that long-winded post, I'm thirteen and far from wise--just a train fanatic and in the mood. :)

So I sing:

HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011! HAPPY SOON TO BE 2011!

Look how far we've come.
