A Disadvantage?

I just found out from one of my early schools that they never got/lost my transcript and counselor rec... and while I'm resending it out ASAP 2moro, I still can't help but feel that I'm now at a major disadvantage because they already know who they want to accept at this late point in the game and that now they'll simply defer or flat out reject me because they've already filled their quota of who they want... can anybody shed some light onto this admissions process and how it works?

muchos appreciated from a panicking senior

depends on your school. if it isn't a rolling school, then quit panicking. it wasn't your fault that the transcript never made it--you will not be penalized for late materials if it was not your doing. they will take a look at you, then make a decision as always. 1 more student wouldn't hurt, if you fit the bill for that school.

FedEx it, they'll have it Wed. There's still time; they've looked folks over, but the real decisions probably don't take place til after 1 Dec. Of course that all depends on their EA response date. These places try to be fair and know s... happens, so you should still get a fair shake.

it's not rolling....decisions are out the 15th. im screwed, aren't i?

Panic is the word. And uncalled for. My schools alumni interview reports' deadline is Dec 1. I have to write one up today.

Think about it: the school you applied to offers ED/EA because IT WANTS TO ADMIT students early, for whatever reasons. If you're file is otherwise good enough for an admit, WHY WOULD THEY CAPRICIOUSLY "screw" you?

Go take a deep breath -- the admissions offices aren't filled with troglodytes whose only aim is to shovel as many files into the furnace as possible.
