A few academic related questions

Hi, I am going to be attending Michigan this fall. I have chosen to participate in the honors program. I just have a few questions about academics.

1) What percentage of my classes have to be honors classes? I couldn't really find very many honors courses in the course catalog. Is this because many classes have unlisted honors equivalents?

2) Does Michigan accept community college credits? This summer I took a few courses at community college just to refresh my memory and reenter learning mode (I graduated HS in 2010).

3) If Michigan does accept CC credits (I took microeconomics), then would I still have take economics at Michigan at as a prerequisite to apply to Ross Business school for undergrad as a freshman?

4) If I do get into the Ross, is it possible to dual major in philosophy along with whatever my Major is in Ross?

Thanks.

For the CC credits, it depends. The have a transfer course equivalencies database. You need to see if the school you took classes at is on there and then see if the courses you took transfer.

I believe you have to take 8 honors classes total through the first 2 years. Someone else can confirm.

Look up the transfer guide. It’ll tell you exactly what will transfer for what credit.

I think intro to Econ is weird… So the transfer guide told me I should get credit for 101 and 102 according to the CoE transfer guide but nothing for the LSA transfer guide. I got some departmental 100X credit or something and it was only 3 credits instead of 4 like 101 and 102. I don’t know if that’s the policy or if they screwed up, either way it doesn’t make any difference to me.

You should count on having to take 101 at U of M for Ross.

Yes, I was told something like 1/3 kids in Ross dual major in LSA or CoE.
