A Few Admissions Questions..

Hey everyone!
I’m applying to UGA and deciding between applying Early or Regular. My only fear is being outright denied early. Does anyone know the typical test scores and/or GPA of the type of applicant who gets denied early?
Also, I did a lot better on the ACT than on the SAT. Does anyone know if UGA will be less inclined to accept me if I just send in my ACT? Or should I just send in both even though my SAT isn’t too great.
Thanks!

Hello ebeth04,

I applied early for admission a year ago and have just finished my first year at UGA.

As long as you do not have terrible scores, you will be almost guaranteed to not be denied. You have a much greater chance to be deferred so do not worry; you can always apply again for regular decision if deferred anyways.

By “terrible scores,” I mean a GPA no lower than 3.6 and an SAT score no less than 1800 or ACT no less than 27-28.

Talk to your high school counselor for a better understanding and I’m sure you will be accepted with the right credentials.

Goodluck!

I would recommend strong students that fall in the middle to top of freshman profile stats apply EA
