A Few Move-In Questions

I would guess a lot of those write ups happened during quiet hours. But I wasn’t there so it’s only a guess.

The guest policy that limits days is in regards to overnight guests, not day guests. Your day guests must follow campus rules, though. If they violate any of them, you are liable for them.

Three nights in a row maximum, 15 days total (I forget if this is in a quarter or an academic year. My memory says the latter, but I will need to recheck the contract on this). A single is nice in that you do not have to clear the overnight guest with a roommate first. The rule is mainly just there to ensure you’re not giving housing to someone who is not paying for it. If you would like the exact wording, I can dig up my contract that talks about it.

Anywho, I have never seen them actually track this at Porter at least (College 10 over the summer it was not tracked either, but summer session was a lot more lax than the academic year). Unlike my brother’s dorm when he was at Chico, guests do not have to sign in so there is no officially enforced tracking that I have experienced yet. If your guest is causing a disturbance or you’re a little more than obvious about it, yeah, you’ll get caught. Whether you get in trouble or not depends on who catches you.

I see, that’s great. Thanks. I planned on having a particular guest come over many times. Would you happen to know how well sound travels through the walls and the door? Not sure how you can scale it though… :|

Also, anybody know what room the CSO would be?

The dorm walls at least at my college were not very soundproof at all. You could hear practically everything going on in the rooms around you.
