So I have a few questions about NYU. I visited it a few weeks ago and stayed over night with a friend and I really really liked it. However, I don't think I have the guts to apply ED cuz it's binding. So here are my q's:

-If my stats are borderline, will applying RD hurt me? Do you really get a SIGNIFICANTLY better chance applying ED?

-Also... I know that NYU is different from other colleges what with the campus, etc. etc. However... what is the nightlife like? Is it all clubbing and going out in NYC or are there any good ol' keggers and dorm parties? If we're the type of people who aren't too hot about clubbing & going out on the town every night, is this not the place for us?

ed gives you an edge but it's hard to say how big of an edge it gives you.

clubbing is big. I used to hate it but I love going out now. I do know a lot of people have parties in dorms but it's a matter of who gets caught and who doesn't. It isn't easy to find a kegger party at all.

Dorms parties are very common here with beer pong etc. Dorm parties come in 2 types: (1) the traditional type with lots of beer, many people and possibly a keg and (2) smaller more initimate get togethers w/ wine, food, and all---sometimes these are preludes to going out in Greenwich Village.

Dorm parties dont exsit, I got written up a bunch of times already for beer/music and it sucks. Even though I have a chill RA, other RA's come around and write me up, it just sucks. So I invested in a pack of colored pencils and chalked my ID, making me well over 21(few places card me), and now i get drunk at bars/clubs/restaurants, or i smoke with people. If your antisocial and like to stay in, there will be other people to hang out with you in the dorms and watch the rest of your floor come back drunk at 6 am.
