a few quesitons-Not really asking for chances

-Native American male(URM) from Oklahoma(Under Represented State?Hook?) at a top 300 school. I dont know how. School never sends kids to top schools...one to Duke in 2007 but that was a miracle.

-2100 SAT, 32 ACT-WIlLL DEFINITELY COME UP. I am studying very hard for the SAT...very hard. From Practice Tests, I am scoring in the 33-34 range on the ACT(I know these tests are not very reliable though)

-3.7cum GPA(3.5frosh year), about 3.8 from then on. Rank is 15/380. =(

-AP Scores: All 4's and 5's, but no AP Calc or AP Physics. Hardest was probably AP Chem

-Only 2 years of a foreign language(terrible counselor advice), and math through Pre-Calc(not an option)

-ECs: I have a few passions
1. Tennis-I am a nationally ranked tennis player at a top 10 junior club in the US. This takes up a ton of time, and I play on varsity as well-I have been the only player from our team to make it to state..ha we are terrible, but state is actually a big feat here
2. Stuco-Leadership-I am a student council officer at the school and I am one of the few kids to stay involved for so long. I LOVE doing this at school-It makes the day/months/years so much fun and I wish I could do it forever. Im not sure if colleges will realize it but this takes A LOT A LOT A LOT of time. Like hours and hours during the school year. I have been to 4 leadership camps BASIC/Advanced leadership, all of which are invite only and highly selective. I was also the district 7 represenative for our school(One person picked per school to represent school in entire state student council convention).
-I had a small art business but it was really nothing spectacular and I doubt I will even mention it as it really does not tie into anything else.

I have posted A LOT of chances threads, especially in specific school forums so I am not exactly asking for chances. I just thought I would post my stats as a foundation for my questions.
My new questions are:

1) How much does coming from Oklahoma help?

2) Is a rank of 13-15(varying)/370 looked down upon at a school that has little to no ivy league applicants? The school is a top 300 school in the nation, but not so competitive. The bad rank is from freshman year. Otherwise, I would be ranked 3 in the class. I know schools like Stanford and Princeton do not include freshman GPA. Will they take into consideration the rank?

3) Is this a difficult enough schedule? I changed it before school started in order to fulfill credits.

1) AP English
2)Leadership (StuCo Class-Favorite Class, part of passion)
3)Pre-Calculus =( (Couldn't take Calc-not an option)
4) AP Environmental Science
5) AP Government and Politics
6) AP Psychology
7) Tennis

depends on where you're applying. potentially, it could help boost your application slightly.

again, depends on where you're applying. for ivies it will definitely make a difference, i think.

that's actually very similar to my schedule this year, minus ap psych and plus ap bio. i certainly hope it's difficult enough.

where are you applying?

mtngoat: you think my ranking will hurt me at ivies?

And I plan on applying to the ivies, Stanford, Georgetown for my reach/match schools and University of Tulsa and University of San Diego as my safeties.

not enough to dramatically affect your overall application, imo. but i'm not expert. it would be better if you were higher, but i think you're fine man.

Thanks...Im really hoping so. This process has gotten me so anxious

you and me both man. I'm freaking out.

Any more answers?!?! PLEASE!

Being from Oklahoma won't help you as much as being a URM. That's a hook all right.
Your ACT score is already excellent and the fact that your worst grades were freshman year is in your favor.
You're taking a lot of APs this year, but they're not the hardest ones.
Ivies, Georgetown, etc. aren't out of reach for you, but can't be considered matches. I'd suggest finding some more match schools.

Greennblue: I plan on having HYS and Wharton as my reaches, barely match/target schools-Georgetown, Dartmouth(Probably more of a reach, but they have this native american thing), with safeties TU and USD. I'm hoping to get into a lot of my reaches...but then again, who isn't.

Do you all think that is a reasonable list or am I pushing my reach/matches?

Anyone?! =(
