A few questions about applying...

I got pretty sick for a month last year, which seriously impacted my GPA. Can I write about it in Essay C?

I don't have a rank because I go to such a small school (19-20 in my senior class, give or take a few). UT apparently assigns a rank for you if your school doesn't rank, but how do they do that when you have such a small class? My school is pretty competitive, the average GPA of my class is low anyway (3.1) and mine is a 3.3 thanks to being sick. The average SAT is a 1740 and mine is a 2100...does UT take that into account?

Will sending in an expanded resume + a couple of awesome teacher recs help? I'm not applying to the most competitive schools, just Liberal Arts and Social Work.

Can I send in everything else early (like by the end of September) and wait until it's October to send in my SAT scores, or will that affect my application?

Sorry if this is tl;dr, I'm just stressing hardcore about this whole application thing thanks to my suck SAT and my inability to be able to take the SAT until October :/

Yes, you can write about anything and everything that you would like UT to consider during the review process in Essay C.

Yes, UT will definitely take in account your SAT score. And you can explain all of that to them in Essay C

Yes, an expanded resume and teacher recs will definitely help you. Take everything that is optional as a requirement.

You can definitely send in everything and send your SAT scores later but until they receive an SAT score, they will not review you. You can send in an SAT score for them to start reviewing you and send in an updated one later, I believe. But your score is actually very good in comparison to many students who apply to UT.

Good luck and hook em!

“laurennicole”, that is entirely correct. I did pretty much the same thing last year. I sent in the application itself in September, but due to a miscommunication and an outdated method of sending transcripts, they didn’t get my transcript until November. (However, I did get accepted within a matter of hours of them receiving my transcript).

Alright, thanks so much guys!
