I didnt study at all, was completely off on pacing as a result, and f'ed up on math lvl 2.

Are subject tests used for placement or admission?

If I took two subject tests yesterday, can i only send one when i get the results back?

Do colleges look at score or percentile?

Will a lower math sat lvl 2 take the edge off of a great sat math 1?

wait, when noob says scores ARE percentiles, let me put it this way: a 740 is like high 70’s - low 80’s percentile. soooooo… is a 740 bad to admissions officers or good?

Rishmeister, your percentile is not 740/1000, but the percent of students you scored better than. Your score is out of 800 and that score corresponds to a percentile.

The scores, though graded on curves, aren’t absolute representations of percentile. For example, an 800 in Math II puts you at the 89th percentile, though a 750 in US History will also put you in the 89th percentile for that test. You can see your percentile by going to the score report of your subject test.

A 740, typically speaking, is good. But that can still be relative. For example, if you are applying as an engineering major at a highly competitive school, a 740 in Math II might put you below the more competitive applicants. Then again, test scores really are only one aspect of your application.

If I’m not using Score choice, will colleges still be able to see scores I don’t want to send (Subject test scores, that is)?

There’s a tool that says “Send scores to colleges” on CB.com. There’s also a box that says “you have __ days to update or manage ur score recipients”. does this mean that even if i don’t click the “send scores to colleges” tool, the subject test i dont want will be sent anyway?

2200 or bust, and whoever else can’t contribute, please get out. the questions i asked r biting at me and i need answers. either help me out wen u post ur own questions or leave. thanks.

If you don’t use score choice, colleges will be able to see all of your scores, which includes subject and reasoning tests.

Unless you specifically indicate colleges you want to send your scores to, they will not go out.

“Score choice” costs the same as sending your scores to a college: $9.50. The only difference is that you check off the scores you want sent instead of sending everything.

wait? if you take two subject tests on one day, dont you have to send both?? i thought you couldnt pick and choose because they are one the same sheet??

I believe that you can order scores to four schools for free within a certain time period after you take the SAT. So if you want to save yourself some money, order them now, don’t wait until right before they come out.

^ Yes, I think within a 7-day period after the SAT date you can add up to 4 free score reports for free, sent the same time you get your results. That way it’s cheaper, and quicker for the colleges to get official scores

No, guys, I already used up my 4 free score reports. I’m askign should I order score choice right now or wait till like a day after tha scores come out? Or will colleges have already jumped to my profile by then and have seen the scores I don’t want them to see? Basically tell me the best way to HIDE these scores. thank you.
