A few questions concerning UP.

I have a 4.0 UW Gpa, 1950 SAT (710M,610CR,630W) I'm re-taking it this Saturday, probably 2100+.
I'm applying from Lebanon as a US citizen. I know apps are rolling, but is this also true for int apps? Also, concerning priority, as long as i apply before nov the 30th, I have the same priority as people who applied sep 1 for example? Should I wait for my new sat scores to come out if this isn't the case?

Also, are the campuses major-based? Or does each have all the majors? I'm looking into either economics/something in business/engineering. So should I apply to UP?

Do i have good chances if i apply on October the 30th?

From what I understand, as long as you apply prior to November 30th you are given priority status. October 30th seems early enough. On the older threads, many of the people who applied in October and November heard before some of the people who applied in September. There does not appear to be a rhyme or reason. Here is the admissions requirements and dates for International students: <a href=“Dates & Deadlines for International Students - Undergraduate Admissions”>http://admissions.psu.edu/info/future/international/deadlines/

In general, the campuses are not major based. Although some of the branch campuses offer majors that you can complete in all four years at one campus, most of the majors require you to “transfer” (it’s not really a transfer - it’s just a change in location) to Main Campus after 2 years. Main Campus has all of the majors so usually you can start and finish there - although some may have you spend time at another campus for a while (for example, nursing is 3 years at Main, 1 year at Hershey). My guess is that all of the engineering and business majors can be completed at Main Campus. PSU is a great Engineering school. I’d look up the program curriculum for the majors you are interested in. They will tell you if you have to go to another campus at any point.

Thank you mate. Also do i have pretty good chances for it to be a match?

According to the bubble chart, you’re in. I would complete the application right away and (if interested -keeping in mind odds are 9 to 1 you’ll get turn down) start on the Shreyer essays so that they’re ready ASAP.

Wait, I have good enough stats for shreyer?

Edit: I submitted my app without checking the box for that option, thinking I had no chance :/

The folks evaluating you for admission to Schreyer do not have access to you SAT (or ACT) scores. They are looking at your curriculum, GPA and other extracurricular activities to decide on acceptance. So, yes, you probably have a decent shot at admission. I don’t think anyone has quite figured out the algorithm for determining who gets in and who doesn’t however, so no one can probably tell you in advance as to your probability of acceptance into SHC.

Make sure your transcripts get in on time, it takes longer internationally.

I’m sending them tomorrow. They take 2 business days to arrive. When should I be expecting a decision?

And send an email to admission to ask how you can apply to Shreyer. It doesn’t hurt to ask. Keep in mind your odds are 1 in 9, but they exist. Your course rigor, extracurriculars, and essays will be the most important.

Alright, thanks.

Your essays are an extremely important part of your SHC application. Considered alongside your other information they should help paint a picture of who you are. It is helpful if your entire application package seems cohesive; your ECs relate to your goals, etc. Be sure to take plenty of time with them.

Thank you. They’ll get my transcripts in the mail tomorrow, when should I expect a decision?

Guessing next month. You can search for old decision threads on this forum and see when applicants to your college (engineering, business, DUS) were accepted.

Recommendations also play a very important role.
