A few questions on transferring

Brahs this is my first semester at my CC (in state )after graduating hs. I am hoping to transfer to UIUC after one year of CC. Please tell me if my schedule is good or i dun goof'd . All of these classes are required
Took gen chem over the summer got an A, have credit for english 101 and ap us history.

My hs stats aren't that great but I had a 3.95 gpa and 4.33 gpa at the end of sophmore year but my grades dropped during junior and senior year because I stopped trying. I took the act and got a 28 first time without studying might have gotten 30+ if I tried. Anyways hs gpa was 3.43 and 3.88 weighted. But I am making education my priority again like old times and becoming an A student like I always was. Hoping to get an easy 4.0 at my CC

I just want to know if I have a good chance of transferring to u of I after one year into chem engineering.

Fall:
Calc 1
Gen chem 2
Humanities
Sociology

Spring may be like, tell me if anything to change:
Physics
Calc 2
Honors english 2
honors psychology

probably take something over the summer like calc 3 or physics 2 then transfer to uiuc in the fall. Anything you guys reccomend? I am joining a few clubs and plan on volunteering and get involved everywhere I can.

Also, any other schools you guys recommend me transferring as better or 2nd choices will appreciate

Also, I forgot to mention transferring with less that 30 credits my hs transcript will be reviewed. When I applied as a freshmen i didn’t get into engineering here, so how much will that hurt my chances after one year?

If you’re applying with less than 30 credit hours, you’re high school transcript will be heavily weighted into your application decision. If you were denied as a freshman, I can’t see you getting in with less than 30 transferable credit hours.

I would recommend applying once you have over 30 credit hours. Your best shot would probably be applying as a junior transfer.

UIUC’s engineering program is very selective, as I’m sure you already know. A 28 ACT is low for engineering. It is not impossible for you to transfer in to UIUC, but until you have 60 credit hours, I’d say your chances are slim.

Good luck, and make sure you put forth your best efforts at your CC.

I will have more than 30 credits because of summer classes

Sorry, but for chemical engineering your transfer chances are zero after first year into UIUC. Chem E does not take transfers until after sophomore year when you are expected to have at least 60 transferable semester credit hours at time you transfer and the courses you must have completed include the first two semesters of chemistry, three semester of physics, and three semesters of calculus, and also there is a high recommendation to also have completed two semesters of organic chemistry, differential equations and matrix theory courses in math, the three semester language requirement (three years of high school language can satisfy that), rhetoric and other courses, see [Transfer Student Frequenly Asked Questions | Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at Illinois](http://chbe.illinois.edu/undergraduate-program/transfer-students/transfer-student-frequenly-asked-questions) and then also the transfer handbook http://admissions.illinois.edu/pdf/transfer/handbook/las2.pdf</a> to which you need to go to the chemical engineering section, p. 8. You should explore all the information on Chem E available on UIUC’s site to see everything you need to accomplish to be able to transfer.

Thanks man^ . What other schools should I look at after one year?
