Hello!
Before I proceed – I know that any answers I receive are merely an idea of my chances and not accurate whatsoever, but I am curious as to what College Confidential users have to say! Thank you in advance to anyone who responds.
I am applying to all or most of the Ivies (top choice being Princeton), UMichigan, UNC, Duke, NYU, Emory, Johns Hopkins, Boston University, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, UF, UCF, USF, and FSU.

- State Science and Engineering Fair for two years so far:
1st year I received 1st place (regional) in Biomedical and Health Sciences category, Honorable Mention at State Level
2nd year I received 3rd place (regional) in same category
Both years, however, I received a Special 1st place award from a local cardiology organization. - Ranked 3rd in American Math Competition (AMC) 12 Testing among juniors and seniors at school
Piano: have played for 11 years. Awarded in some regional competitions, but nothing on a larger scale. I run a social media account with two other pianist friends, featuring our own videos as well as local pianists to showcase talents. We are planning to put on a show this year to raise money for charity. I’ve performed in front of small local audiences, competition, school talent shows, etc.
Leadership:
- South Asian Club treasurer during junior year (ran club website, we raised money through cultural events to build a well for clean water in India and sold “Send Love to Syria” pin sales to aid Syrian civilians)

Other:
Wrote and delivered speech in front of school and local media in our school’s Unity Walk regarding gun violence (after Parkland shooting)
Participated in a dance group showcase at school, raising money to donate to UNICEF for anti-domestic violence/anti-child abuse/anti-bullying cause
County-wide World Language Festival awards (ranging from 1st place to 3rd place)
I have medical aspirations and I’d say my main focuses are medicine, writing, and piano. Currently I’m working on integrating medicine and writing, and piano is more of a hobby.
Senior year class schedule: IB SL Chemistry, IB SL Spanish 5, IB SL History of the Americas, IB HL English 4, IB HL Contemporary History, IB HL Mathematics, IB HL Biology, IB Theory of Knowledge, AP Calculus AB
Main question:
- Will my IB and AP scores hurt my résumé if my ACT and GPA are still good?
