So far, i have filled out most of my CSS profile but there are still some questions that i need help on
-Parents' Data section
-it requires that i fill information on my 2nd parent but my mom is a single parent, she never married. Am i suppose to still fill in all information on my dad?
-Information about Noncustodial parent
-so for this section am i suppose to put my dad? i looked up what a noncustodial parent was, and it says they have an obligation to pay child support. so does this mean legally because my dad does not pay us any child support(they just separated dont really hear from him)

-parents' household information section
-one of the question asks how many people are in our household. i put 4. me. my mom and 2 younger sisters.
But then on the Dependent Family Member Listing Section, they only gave me 1 family member to give information on. i was expecting 2 for both of my sisters.

Thanks for readign and all help is appreciated :).

Yes and yes to your dad’s info. The fact he doesn’t pay child support is somewhat irrelevant for the profile.

thank you for replying, so does anyone know why the Dependent Family Member Listing Section Gives me only 1 member slot as oppose to two?

If your dad does not live with you & is not married to you Mom his information would not go on the Css Profile. If the schools you are applying to require the Non Custodial Profile then he would fill that out. Check this list

https://profileonline.collegeboard.com/prf/PXRemotePartInstitutionServlet/PXRemotePartInstitutionServlet.srv

BUT - some schools still require information on their own forms regarding the Non-custodial parent so check each schools website carefully. At the end of your Css Profile form they do ask name and contact into for the non-custodial. This is so they can contact them with information to access the non-custodial profile (if required)

There should be room for more than one sibling. Not sure what happened there. Since it is near a deadline it may be difficult to contact College Board with questions but it is worth try.

If some of your schools require NCP info, and your dad will not provide that info, then those schools will not process your financial aid application.

Since your dad has been in your life up until the recent separation, I don’t think you’d get an NCP waiver.

thanks every found, I the solution lol. forgot that my mom just got married. lets just say, i dont like her new husband >_<

^^^

What?

Anyway…if a school needs NCP info, you’ll still have to get your dad to do the paperwork?

The parent you live with and his/her spouse go on the Profile. So if you live with mom, your mom and her husband and all of their income and assets are included in Profile.

If the school requires a Non-Custodial Parent form, your father (his income and assets) get listed on that. If he has remarried, the information about his current wife also gets listed. So you will have at least 3 and possibly 4 people’s income/assets on your forms.

Note that colleges consider assets and income from ALL of these parents/stepparent before deciding whether to give you money for college. Your mother’s husband’s income and assets need to be listed and are treated just as if they were hers. Are they prepared for this? Run the COMBINED income through the calculator and see if they can meet the EFC (which is the MINIMUM they would be expected to contribute). You may need to have a talk with them.
