a few questions regarding chances to get into cornell

IS AN AVERAGE GPA OF 3.5(u.w.) HIGH ENOUGH TO GET INTO CORNELL?

It depends. How hard were your classes? How hard is your school? What is the average GPA at your school? Does everyone get a 3.5, or is a 3.5 a fine achievement? What is the grading scale are your school? Is an A only a 90, is an A a 96?

All these things factor into how high a GPA really is. And GPA doesn't really matter, what the colleges look at are the grades you earned in your classes. Well you might think that means they look at your GPA, not necessarrily. If you were applying to Engineering they would put more emphasis on Math and Science grades and a grade of a B or even C+ in an english class would be ok, not excellent, but ok.

Just think about what major or school at Cornell you are applying to, and see what your grades are in the classes that strongly relate to that major/school, and then consider your GPA in those relative classes.

A 3.5 in some cases can be extremely good, and in other cases average to below average, as I initially said, it all depends.

how does a college know whether a certain high school is hard or not? I go to a college prep school, so hopefully they can figure me out, but how do they look at people you go public? Just wondering?
