Hey, I don't have health insurance at the moment, so I am getting SHIP for sure. I was wondering about a couple of things... any help would be appreciated.
1. When does SHIP become effective?
2. My financial aid amount due right now is at a negative amount, does this mean my aid covered tuition PLUS SHIP?
3. How does SHIP work exactly, will we be mailed some sort of insurance card?
4. Is it true that we can only go to UCLA owned hospitals for check-ups?

Thanks in advanced.

1) Fall & Winter SHIP coverage ends for the Fall and Winter at 11:59pm the day before the next term. Spring SHIP coverage includes
the summer and ends at 11:59pm the day before the first day of Fall term. 2) Probably but I have no idea
3) SHIP is a PPO network. You will be mailed an insurance card two weeks after the effective date. You can go online to print out a temporary insurance card.
4) You can go to any provider within a 50 mile radius. So that’s basically all of great Los Angeles up to Yorba Linda and Irvine.

wow this is such great info!
thanks for the help

Glad I could help ;)
