A few questions

How long does it take after they have received all of your materials to get a decision? I just got a letter in the mail about them missing my ACT scores (sent them in), and i'm just waiting on them to get my scores and review the application.

Also, for scholarships and aid. I know they aren't very good with aid (42% of need filled), and I have a lot of need. Besides the Gateway program, how difficult is it to receive a scholarship, to cover a large amount (full tuition)?

Decisions are usually made 4-6 weeks after your application goes complete.

Gateway scholarships are a large portion of financial aid given at Ohio University and to receive a full in-state tuition, you'll need a 32 ACT score. There are other opportunities and you'll be notified of these if you qualify. Also, they have a very detailed Financial Aid website and information about scholarships.

So they don't give out full tuition scholarships to non-residents, rather just the Gateway trustee award to off-set the non-resident surcharge, as well as Gateway scholarship awards? And the scholarships are just for tuition, not all the fees?

I'm just worried about aid. Collegeboard states that OU doesn't meet the aid of students, rather 42% of it. Will more qualified students receive more aid than a less qualified student? Are admissions need-blind (I'm likely to get in, but if they see my need, they may be deterred a bit)?

I'm guessing you probably can't answer these questions, other than a "wait and see what they're going to give you" answer.

yea im kinda freaking about ohio aid to b/c i really want to go there. you also have to watch out b/c many scholarships disqualify from parts of the gateway award. They also have a gateway grant so i dont think there is any good way to estimate what your going to get. Im just hoping for at least 15k

I'm out of state and got a Gateway Scholarship and a Trustee award. Even if you're out of state they'll still give you whatever instate tuition is. So, with the right SAT/ACT score, instead of paying $25k you'll be paying $17k. Or something like that. And that's in addition to the $4500 trustee award.

I have a 3.0 gpa (4.0 scale) and SAT of a 1700

I plan to go into Undeclared (Is it easier to go in undeclared) if not i will really go into any major that i can get in with and transfer to an intended major later.

Apply for the major you want - if they can't admit you into that program then they'll consider you for undecided. It's a great system in that it is NO FAULT if you apply to your major. Good luck.
