A few questions?

Hey!

So I'm a high school senior.
I am calculating my GPA and I am not quite sure if I'm doing it right.

For example, in my sophomore year I got the following grades in Geometry:

First quarter: B
Second quarter: C
= First semester: C
Third quarter: B
Fourth quarter: B
= Second semester: B

Question So could I add the semester grades (2.0+3.0) and divide by 2 = 2.5? Or add the quarter grades (3.0+2.0+3.0+3.0) and divide by 4 to get 2.75?

What would my final grade be? The school I went to didn't use +/-'s.

Now I go to a different school and instead of quarters, we have (I'm not sure if this is the right word, but) trimesters (?). We have the first 6 weeks grade, the second 6 weeks grade, and the 3rd 6 weeks grade and then the semester grade.

Question In AP Physics, I got a B for the first 6 weeks. How could I possibly still get an A for the semester?

Question I only took 1 AP Class (the max allowed by my school..yeah I know) my junior year and scored a 3 on the AP exam. I am taking 3 AP's now as a senior. Can I still get AP Scholar if I get 3's and 4's on the upcoming AP exams in May, even though I'm a senior?

Last one.
I took the ACT in June, and when I took it I was really sick and on top of that, extremely exhausted (I got no sleep the night before). I ended up getting a (yikes!) 21. I made sure to NOT send this to any high school or college, instead just to me. So it can't be on my record and no college knows about it. Fortunately, I heard something about deleting a score.
Question So could I write the ACT and have them completely terminate that score?

Thank you all so much! I know I'm asking a lot of questions but I'm a very stressed out senior.

Think of it as four one-quarter-credit classes rather than a single one-credit class with a different grade each quarter. So your GPA for this class will be the number of grade points divided by the number of credits attempted, or

[(3/4)+(2/4)+(3/4)+(2/4)]/1=(3+2+3+3)/4= 2.75

How is the final grade calculated?

Yes, but it won’t do you any good.

Not that I know of, but there’s no good reason to do that anyway. Just take it again and get a better score.

Awesome.

In English I got a B one quarter and an A the rest of the quarters. After adding everything up and dividing by 4, I get a 3.75. Would that be an A- or a B as an overall grade for the class?

Probably an A- assuming the school does pluses and minuses, but your transcript will show your quarter grades.

No, my school said that they only report semester grades. And my school doesn’t do plus/minuses.

If your school only reports semester grades than it means you had a 2.5 in the example you gave…

ok great lol thanks

2.5
Yes…work hard.
Yes. Might have to self study.
It counts.
