Chapman has about a 53% acceptance rate, which is lower than like UCSC which has a 80% but schools like UCLA have a 26%. Generally speaking the lower the rate the harder it is to get in but UC schools are public therefore a lot harder for out-of-state students to attend than private schools b/c public schools are funded by the state and tax payers don't want to pay for colleges that accept students out-of-state before they accept their kids who are in state. Chapman has about 23% out-of-state students and 2% international students so most of the students come from california.

the film school is very difficult to get into, and the school in general got a lot more competitive this year, so i think it's moving up in the ranks

according to what the admissions counselor told us on the tour over break, this year the rate of acceptance overall was 42%... film school for screenwriting and production were both the same at 10%, thats 1 in 10 ppl so thats really hard... dunno about the other film majors specifically, but he said it was a 10-15% acceptance rate overall for the film school, way more competitive than the rest of the school. the only other school that comes close to being as selective is the buisness school, he said.

OOh and just so you all know I visited Chapman again today lol not on a tour or anything but i live about 30 minutes away so it's not that much of a trip. even though it was a sunday the campus was fairly lively i saw kids filming, kids playing soccer on the field, and a lot of kids around the housing, looks like they're building a lot of new things as well, new buildings and a stadium i think, they are really really putting a lot of money into this school, looks like they really want to boost their rankings and appeal

And Ken as far as your question about where the kids come from goes, I saw a lot of out-of-state liscense plates in the housing parking lots, so it looks like kids do come from a variety of different states

ok, thanks for all of that. ive visited before and it seemed like the social life was good. i was accepted to the business school and im just trying to make my decision between a few schools.

The honors program at UCSB, UCI, and Pepperdine. I'd rather not go to a huge school and I wasn't sure how they all compared. I didn't know all that much about Chapman until November when I applied, but it is the only school that offered me merit-based financial aid.

kenz, ucsb and uci dont have a business program, its a bizecon program. thats the reason why i turned down uci and ucsb. also, ucsb is to far and expensive. what i realize is that a degree is a degree, it doesnt really matter what school you go to to a certain extent.
