A Few Questions

First off I’m going here next year, but I got a few questions.

What dorm arrangement would you reccomend? (suite (2 person or 4) or common style)
2.What does a freshman schedule typically look like (how many classes a day, etc.)
3.How’s the partying?
4.Also Mac laptop or regular laptop?

I'm starting this January, but I know Temple pretty well.

1940 and 1300 seem to be the best, as some of the others are quite old.

You can really take whatever type of schedule you want.

I've only partied at Drexel, but I've heard good things about Temple's parties (I know Penn kids party with Temple kids). But it's Philly, so it cant be bad.

Doesnt matter. Both are supported.

I was looking at White Hall on the website. Is that one old? Has anyone heard anythings about it?

I dont know White Hall. Where are you from?

I'm from Allentown, PA like an hour and 15 from Temple

Here's a link about White Hall Residence Hall Information - University Housing & Residential Life

I go to Temple...

What dorm arrangement would you reccomend? (suite (2 person or 4) or common style)
You probably want a suite. Both 1940 and 1300 are the nicest of all the dorms. I live in 1940, and I really like it there. Do not pick Peabody...it's the oldest and crappiest from what I've heard. White Hall is okay. It's a little older so not as good as the other two.

2.What does a freshman schedule typically look like (how many classes a day, etc.)
It depends on what classes you're taking. As a freshman, they'll pick some classes for you and schedule a time slot for it [you'll find out at orientation]. I think minimum is around 12 credits a semester? So that's like 4 classes. I think 4-5 classes is average.

3.How's the partying?
It's not hard to find a party... so you won't have trouble with that.

4.Also Mac laptop or regular laptop?
Doesn't matter

Im also a Temple Student

What dorm arrangement would you reccomend? (suite (2 person or 4) or common style)

-Every style has its own perks. Im in a suite now, White Hall actually and I dont love it but dont hate it. White was built right before 1940 and 1300 and shares the same setup as 1940 but has a definitely worse location. I barely spend any time in my room but find it sort of dull and quiet. It is nice having your own bathroom though but the traditional style dorms like Johnson, Hardwick and Peabody are a little more social. Peabody the oldest, 1300 is the nicest and most modern, 1940 has the best location right on liacouras walk, Johnson and Hardwick have the social element as well as the dining hall, and white hall has the closest location to Temple Star (awesomely cheap Chinese food, open until 3am)

2.What does a freshman schedule typically look like (how many classes a day, etc.)

-Depending on your major this can vary a little. I took 17 credits while my roommate only took 12. This is 4-5 classes and of course you have to satisfy your core requirements.

3.How's the partying?
-Temple parties vary a lot. Frats are open but a little shady at times, as a guy it helps to know someone in the frat or bring lots of girls with you. Girls never really have problems. There are also a ton of house parties going on every weekend. Thursday is Thirsty Thursday and Friday is usually pretty sweet too. Saturdays tend to be a little more quiet and I usually head down towards the city. Plus, being in the city, its only a 15 minute subway to Drexel or UPenn and its only a short train ride to Saint Joes.

4.Also Mac laptop or regular laptop?
-Both are compatible, its up to you

To what extent does partying dominate the social life?
