A few questions

Wants to x fer to : UCLA , UCB UCSD in 09/010 Biz econ/econ/bizadmin they all abide by almost the same curriculum. MY ccc does not have TAP but has an honor's program. MAINLY UCLA

question 1 : In regards to GPA. UC's look at over all GPA more so than your pre req's gpa for weighted major's For example I'll have a 3.73 for my weighted and all the other classes I'm taking I'll have 3.5 because I got a C in Spanish (God I hate Spanish, But I live in California and its a second language here now, 10 years from now a first language LOL)

question 2: Do UC's tend to like to recruit different economic brackets for their candidate pool? My family is in the lowest socioeconomic bracket, I mean the lowest income and I'm under 25.

question 3: I'm 21 I've been working consistently for 3 years can that be considered as a EC?

these questions are only relative to me because I know by time I'm done I won't make the median for UCLA's Bizecon Gpa which is around 3.8 and probably a little higher next year, Also my school doesn't offer shoe in programs like TAP

they look at major gpa over overall gpa, but thats not to discredit the importance of your overall gpa

no, but it could make for a compelling essay

work is an EC, and they students who work and go to school (responsibility, time management, etc)

gpa gpa gpa,

gl esquire

Work is not an EC, but work experience; but, in your case it could be 'worth' more than an EC in the larger scheme of things.

Even if your CCC has an honor's program, if it's not in this list: UCLA Undergrad Admissions: Transfer Alliance Program Then I don't believe you will get the same priority as a TAP-certified applicant

I think this thread will really help.

I won't go through all the posts for you but I can assure you I passed by at least two BizzEcon decisions of last year from UCLA. The results speak for themselves

Work helps, but it doesn't help that much in my opinion.
I heard the UCLA selection process is very unpredictable, so don't count on something random like socioeconomic status to get you over the hump either.
