A few questions...

First of all..man, those Subject Tests! I just got back from taking the German one. I had signed up for three but was in such an apathetic mood (school was let out two days ago, come on!) that I thought it best to only take one. I'll be lucky if I scored in the 600s >< Did anyone else feel this way?

Anyway, I just wanted some opinions on the books that are the best for Biology and US History. I'm going to take them in November because a.) I didn't do any prep for them and b.) I'm taking both AP Bio and AP American History next year. I read a tiny bit of PR for USH and thought it was good. But was it the best? I read a chapter of Barron's for Bio and had to take a nap afterwards. I've heard that the real test isn't as bad.

Does studying the AP Test prep books do you any good? It'd be nice to kill two birds with one stone. And would you say that the best prep for these is to just time yourself taking the practice tests? Seems like it'd work...

Sorry, I'm sure that these questions have been asked several times, so thanks for hanging in there. Hope y'all who took the Subject Tests today did well!

the best book for us history is amsco hands down (both ap and sat subject)

for bio, i would recommend a combination of 2 books for both ap and sat: PR for sat bio (i did not find the AP bio PR book that helpful) and ap cliffs
i thought each book covered certain topics better than the other (for example, i understood organismal biology better with PR, while cliffs went in more detail with plants). its probably best using both books for both tests.

btw i just took the sat bio test today and aced through some questions that were actually in the PR sat practice tests!
