Does anyone here know Vassar’s stance on/procedure for sending music composition art supplements? Their guidelines page is really unclear as is the submission form itself.

Is it a big deal if I haven’t visited Vassar? It’s on the East Coast, whereas I’m on the West so it wouldn’t have been at all convenient.

How useful is this Your Space thing? How much do they REALLY want to know about you?

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to your first question. The only advice I can give you is to get in touch with the admissions office and ask.

In regards to your second question... I think you should be fine having not visited, for admissions purposes, seeing as you're from the West Coast. The school realizes that not everyone has the time/option/ability to come out for a visit, particularly when you're from across the US.

Lastly, it's really hard to say exactly how useful the Your Space is; however, would imagine that it could help in cases when the admissions office is "on the fence" about a particular applicant. It's another way to allow one of your unique factors to come through on your application, so is useful from that standpoint. That being said, I do know several people (including myself) who got into Vassar and left the Your Space blank, so it's by no means "the" deciding factor on an application.

Thanks for your response!
