I am considering applying for fall transfer admissions and I have a couple questions and possibly more in the future:

What is the party scene like? At my current school, the social scene is based around the fraternities. is there anything that essentially takes that role? do sports teams? where are parties? is there anything else to do on a saturday night?

Is there a major presence of extracurricular activities?

where do sophs jrs and srs live & eat? what about transfers?

as far as you know, is it hard for transfers to get adjusted & get to know people?

party scene - definitely not as many variety as you can find in a large state university, but you still have fun on friday and saturday nights. no frats, but social houses that are similar to coed frats/sororities, though they’re not really big. there’re sports team parties too, but mostly they’re a bit “exclusive.” a typical weekend night goes on like this; pregaming with a couple friends in a dorm room, then moving on to a “bigger” dorm room party that’s usually in a suite or a house on campus, then moving on to a party in a social house or the bunker - college’s “night club.” there’re movies shown on campus on saturday night and occasionally a couple performances, but they don’t last very long.

extracurriculars - yes, there’re many clubs that you can certainly choose to get involved with. check the website.

dining - since middlebury is a small college and most students live on campus, the dining hall system is pretty good and everyone eats there. there’re two dining halls and everyone eats there.

i’d say that it’s not really that hard for transfers to adjust. middlebury is full of nice people and you’ll likely meet many people in your classes or dorm who’ll become good friends.
