Are there tennis courts? If I wanted to play with a friend where would I go?

Where are there ping pong tables? (haha this is a strange question)

Are classrooms/facilities clean/new/up to date?

Any severe rodent problems?

Where do most students hang out or do on their free time?

Thanks!

Yes, south side of campus.

In the student center.

Some classes are held in the older buildings, but they all still have air, heat, and wireless.

Well, it’s a city, some I guess they exist somewhere. But there isn’t a “severe problem”.

That’s vague, students do whatever they want. Some stay in their room, some stay in the library, some stay at Au Bon Pain, some stay at Curry…

the tennis courts at the park? northeastern doesn’t actually own courts do they?

also, if I was in CBA and wanted to double major, could I major in something in CAS (like math)… or even minor?

neuchimie: you are in the honors program right? how has your experience at neu been? how are the honors kids? whats the environment like?

thanks!

I’m pretty sure they are owned by Northeastern, they are by the parking garages.

You can’t double major in majors not in the same college, but you can dual major. For instance you can’t do math and business (different colleges) but you can do a dual in economics and business. I’m pretty sure this is correct, and I checked it against the form to change your major, but if someone knows differently then okay. You can minor in whatever you want.

Yes, and I love the honors program. Better housing freshman year, more free activities, smaller classes. It looks great on a resume when you are trying to apply for co-ops and everyone in your class has between a 3.0 and 4.0, and you have no way to stand out from them. I liked it freshman year mainly because (since honors kids tended to do well in high school) I wasn’t the only one who sometimes had to put class/assignments before sleep or partying. By your second year, everyone is pretty much the same, but freshman year people tend to blow off big term papers till an hour before or not do homework at all the whole semester, because that’s what they did in high school. In the honors dorms, there are people in the study rooms till 3am most week nights, so I didn’t feel as crappy when I couldn’t go out because I had a massive paper due. But it really does vary, since obviously there are a lot of really good students and really smart students who aren’t in honors, and by your second year how often you stay up late will be because of your classes (for the most part) not because of how you were in high school. Every computer science major loses sleep over Computer Organization, even if you are a genius.

Oh also I really like the opportunities to do things. I’m really lazy, so it was really awesome how I was able to do things like Honors Mentors and Honors Welcome Week and stuff like that. Because I am a mentor, I then got a job as a Northeastern Tour Guide, and they both look good on my resume and show “school involvement” (which is great, because I am very much not involved). Obviously there would be stuff to do if I wasn’t honors, but I like how signing up pretty much was just filling in some blanks on a form and responding back to the Honors Office.
