Hey i was wondering if any of you current students could help me out with a couple of things.

Do students tag you as being a "rich jew" just by wearing name brand clothes(burberry, abercrombie, urban outfitters, etc) I REALLY don't want to be considered as that the second kids look at me. and im not even rich nor jewish lol.

I know this occurs in MANY colleges. does it occur here?

And, how hard is it to get into a fraternity? Do they do hardcore things like they show in the movies? Can you get into Frat parties as a freshman?

oh and what service plan is best for syracuse? Like which one has the best service. My contract for AT&T is expiring in February so i need to know what service should i switch to for the best support.

1) Parent here, but you’re not going to be tagged a “rich jew” as you put it if you are not…trust me, you will be able to tell the difference (according to my sophomore daughter who wears nice clothes but does not “fit the mold”)…

2) from what I hear from other parents of guys at SU, it is not hard to “get into” a fraternity but it depends on which one you want to get into…as with sororities, some frats are infiltrated with kids who all knew each other before they got to SU…it just depends…

3) frat parties as a freshman; again depends on who you know…

-People don’t really care how rich you are and whether you’re Jewish. The school is large enough for you to immerse yourself in and there’s too much to do to worry about labels.

-If you ever heard of a “rush”, then that is how induction into IFC and PHC fraternities works. It works as a bidding process. But you’ll find out more.
