Hello all. I am just finishing up my first semester as a sophomore at Umass Dartmouth. I just had a few questions:

1) how does the school I transfer from affect my decision? I’m not just asking for me, but also my four best friends want to transfer there as well (one goes to UMD with me, the other two go to Bridgewater State, Bristol Community College and Northeastern)

2) How much do my high school grades count?
I had a 2.83 gpa out of high school, and a 1910 SAT score. No Currently (if i calculated right, including this past semester) i have 42 credits and a 3.7 gpa ( I messed up my freshman year a little bit) in college. Do i have any chance? I would be a biology major so I’m assuming that I would be in the CAS?

3) Is it really cheaper? I always hear people say attend a public university for two years to save money, which is what I did (but not for those reasons). I currently have about 11 grand in debt I believe, which isn’t too bad after two years.

4) Are transfers welcomed at BC? what is the social life like for transfers? i take it i might be able to reconnect with a few people that graduated from high school with me and went there (i have kept in touch with about 2 of them)

Thanks for any sort of response. I know you don’t HAVE to take your time out of your precious schedule to respond to somebody you don’t even know, but you would be helping me make a huge life decision.
