This is for the scenario of a JR Year Transfer.

How should you show high school ECs when you transfer? Do you put all of the clubs you were in while in HS, or just the most important stuff from HS?

Since SAT is still necessary for some (usually the most elite) schools, do the majority of those schools accept SATs only from the HS years instead of letting you send SATs from after? Or are they all just random with what they accept? And why?

TY

Also, how does state of residence work? Does it factor in transferring? For instance, I have a parent who lives in an underrepresented state. Would that help me? TY in advance again.

Most important. You’re a junior transfer – presumably your college transcript should be an accurate reflection of your current work ethic/personality.

If you’re a Junior transfer, standardized tests matter less. It depends on the school though – whether they’ll take a Test taken in college.

I doubt the State or Residence matters unless you’re talking about State schools.

High school ECs: If you’re transferring for junior year, just list the most important ones. If you’re using the Common App, they do include fields on the transfer forms.

Residency: Your legal residency – not wherever you’re living for college, assuming it’s different – is the only one that counts, not your parent’s. Whatever is on your driver’s license or state ID is the one that you need to list. (And Bourne, it can matter for private institutions, especially if they’re trying to enhance geographic diversity. My college considers it.)
