Hi I just want to make sure that since the UC’s require one year of fine arts is it ok to take that fine arts senior year or does it have to be completed by the time you apply???

I'm pretty sure you can take it in your senior year or even summer after you graduate to fulfill the visual/performing art requirement. I'm taking it next year (class of 08)

You can take it senior year. Just as long as you can meet all the requirements before you graduate then it is perfectly fine. The reason why is because when your applying to UC, not only do they make you fill in the classes you've taken but also the classes you plan on taking.

Does computer art count as a fine art??

I don't think so.

If you attend a high school in California, check the course list for your high school and see if computer art is listed under the VPA category. You can check the list at http://ucop.edu/doorways and click on “a-g Course List.”

I have another question about the arts classes - do you have to take 1 full year class? or can I take 1 Semester classes each semester - taking Photo1 1st semester and Photo2 2nd semester?

I'm out of state btw.
