Hey everyone. I just got my transcript today, and after checking the classes vs. the a-g online course class list, it seems I don't have an art class. I took a class called "digital photo" my sophomore year and, although it does show up on my transcript as fulfilling my art requirement, I can't find it on the online list at https://doorways.ucop.edu/list/site .

Does this mean I have to somehow take an art class my senior year (now)? Is there anyone I can talk to about this, besides my school (who is very incompetent)?

Thank you very much.

I'd like to add that this list is very outdated (although it says it's 2007-2008). It lists us having a Physics B AP class but that's not offered, as well as many other classes that aren't offered or new classes that are offered.

Nononono! Talk to your school admin about that -- unless the class you took is on their list, a lot of the UCs will ding you on the VPA requirement! It HAS to be approved by the UC so it'll be on the A-G list, and they have some stiff requirements. Only if the school ASSURES you it's been approved (and get something in writing) if you still feel concerned, then go to UC and see what they say.

If worse comes to worse you can take a cc class for spring semester to fulfill the requirement (one semester cc = 1 year VPA).

check w/the cc website and it will say if it's uc transferable vs. cal state transferable. It HAS to be UC transferable for it to be accepted. Someone else on this board was talking about a website that spells it out per cc, but I forgot what it was. I know at Santa Monica College, the courses stated if it was UC or Cal State or both.

Depends on how your high school does it. My son's school puts some cc classes on the transcript, but not others. I would ask your high school registrar for a list of cc classes that they are willing to include on the high school transcript. If the art class you want to take isn't on there, I think the UC's will accept it as a straight cc transfer to fulfill the requirement. Good luck.

if the class is transferable, it will be marked 'igetci' at the college (if Cal State or juco). If transferable, you do not need to add it to your transcript, unless your HS so requires. You just list Art 101 on your UC app, including the college name, and it will count in fulfillment of the VAPA ("f") requirement.

So, someone can please clarify one thing it would be extremely helpful: Will the Art class I took give me both 3 transferable college credits as well as fulfill the 1 year of visual/preforming arts requirement? Or can I only choose 1?
