A-G Requirements (Laboratory Science Requirement)

Hello,

I am currently a 11th grader being homeschooled through a program in California that does not offer laboratory sciences. However, they do offer the science classes, I know that most universities in California that require that I take a laboratory science according to the A-G requirements, will universities outside of California such as (i.e. Yale, Columbia, University of the District of Columbia, which are my top college choices) require it to be a LABORATORY science or can it just be the science class with no lab as long as I understand and pass the tests/work?

Are you near a city where you can take a community college class? Do you have any co-ops in your area that offer labs? You could also do online labs or buy some lab kits from places such as Carolina Biological, Rainbow Resource, or Home Training Tools.

Lab Science for Homeschool:
Kolbe Academy, a prominent homeschooling orginization sells virtual labs:

I second the recommendation for a community college class - it’s always nice to have grades other than homeschool grades anyway.

I’m already taking classes at my local community college they only let us pick 2 classes and a science wasn’t one of the 2 classes I chose. (I’m taking Ceramics and “Writing The College Essay”.)
Perhaps I’ll just use a virtual lab software.
