A General Chancing Please (Trust me, it's brief...)

White male
Philadelphia, PA
Best Public HS in the district (about 2,000 students)

Weighted GPA: 4.05 (highest = 4.2)
Rank: 40/520 (~7.7%)
Course Rigor: If a 10 was the hardest courseload, mine is 7.5/10
SAT I: 1450, 2220 (Math = 770, CR = 680, Writing = 770)
No SAT II's yet (still debating)

School E.C.'s: almost non-existent, mainly just Peer Mentoring (tutoring)
Other E.C.'s: About 200 hours of REAL community service, plus job at local supermarket (like, I really work there during the week)
I hope it is understood, minimal E.C.'s does not automatically mean I am one-dimensional or not well rounded...

Essays: assume great
Recommendations: good to great

Hit me with the truth... Thank you in advanced to anyone who replies.

essays and recs will have to be damn good.

i would say that your SAT scores definitely get you in the ballpark for admission, but then again there are so many things that seem up in the air to me. going by the GPA and SAT you posted, you seem bright, so you’ll need those 3 SAT IIs to be good scores in the areas you’ll most likely want to major in. the community service and job looks good, but going by what the admissions office told me 2 days ago, you’ll really need to make yourself stand out in the essays, and tell them how you’re unique and why would succeed at georgetown. if you get a chance at well, i posted my school stats if you wouldn’t mind chancing me

You need 3 SAT IIs for your application…but everything else seems fine. You have a better chance than many.

You will have an alright chance. Focus on your essay/application. I hope by “debating” about SAT IIs, you mean you’re debating which ones to take rather than if you’re going to take them or not. SAT IIs are required for Gerogetown.

Write a really good essay about why you worked so many hours at the grocery store and in community service, rather than glee club and sports. You will be competitive.
