They thought Oklahoma was too controversial for hs students. Yikes!!

I’m so glad to see this, but sorry the student had to go through such an ordeal.
It’s just sad to see how hostile some states (including my own) have become to LGBTQIA+ kids, so quickly. My kid isn’t even considering staying in-state because of our legislature’s open animus against students like them. And the hatred is so deeply personal and cruel – one legislator got up and, on the record, claimed that the students and parents who took the time to come to the legislature to beg her not to vote for a forced-outing bill and a ban on gender affirming care were lying about the effect that it would have on them. It was shocking.
Well, it’s a whole different state!
