A Great Visit

Our family just returned from Wake after visiting for the first time and I feel compelled to post here in light of previous reports of disappointing info sessions. This is our third child and after MANY college visits Wake Forest stands out as among the best presentations we have experienced. The info session was a single speaker sharing her own experiences as an undergrad in a most engaging and personal style. She was funny and authentic. Our tour guide’s enthusiasm for the school was endearing – she seemed to be bursting to share her adopted home and all its facets. It didn’t hurt that it was a perfect fall day with color in all the trees highlighting the beautiful campus. A delicious meal at the Village Tavern and a soccer game vs Notre Dame topped off the day. DS definitely applying here.

@Mom2twins So glad you had a positive visit, everyone can have a bad day at the office, so certainly it’s understandable that some visits are bad- I know that when I visited the very first time, I did not love it, but was lucky enough to get exposed a 2nd time to students and the community and loved it! I poured a lot of energy into working to help improve visitors’ experience when I was at Wake and I have since visited dozens of schools and felt when I left that WFU visits were among the more genuine ones you can get. At the end of the day, of course it’ll be mostly positives, but I always thought counselors were good at being honest about challenges too. Good luck to your kids and hope they will join the proud #Proud2BeaDeacon alumni base.
