A health career where I can have independence ?

Hello,

I am looking for a health career that lets me have some independence, but still be able to communicate with others. Also, not have to sit on a desk 100% of the time. I do like administrative work, but I want to be able to do a variety of things.

I am currently at the end of my 2nd year in college. I am majoring in public health policy and I am having trouble choosing a career to go into. At the most, I would like to complete a masters degree, but I prefer to stop at a bachelors due to financial reasons.

Do you guys have any opinions or suggestions?

Thank you!

Not sure what type of health care you want to do but perhaps something with computers and healthcare could be don with a bachelor’s. One thing I suggest to people is to look in the want ads for the type of job you think you want and see what the employers require. Then you know if they will accept a bachelors and in what as well as other skills that you would need to acquire.

How do you define “independence”??

Nursing?

We’d like our PAs to be more independent in their decision making. Unfortunately, there may be a cognitive gap between that level and MDs that doesn’t facilitate it.
