a junior transferring into the sophomore class?

i'm a sophomore now and i want to transfer next fall. i haven't chosen a major yet (but hopefully will by the time i apply) and i want to study abroad. because of this, it seems like it would be better to transfer into the sophomore class, and do 3 years at my new school instead of 2.
is this permissible? advisable? can you put this on applications?

your class status is determined by # of units transferred over not by what year you want to be

unless you want to forfeit credits or take on an extra major or minor, there’s no way to transfer into a specific class year.

Study abroad (other than summer) is going to be very difficult for a jr transfer to Brown or Columbia as both require you be on campus for 2 years. Many schools don’t let you forfeit credits, you should call each school to find out their policies.

For C, see questions #25 & 28:

Couldn’t they do a study abroad in a spring or summer semester if they wanted to and take two full fall/winters at Columbia or Brown>

As I said, summer is fine. Spring however would mean that they are on campus only 3 of the 4 required semesters.
