Hi I am a current junior and wanted to know my chances at schools like UCSB, UCI, UCSC, and UCR.

State: CA
UC GPA : 3.65(Including CC classes)
UW GPA : 3.35(Including CC classes)
My CC GPA is around: 3.83 UW
Projected SAT scores: 2200 (since those were around the scores I was receiving before taking my SAT earlier this month)

AP and Honor Courses (by end of junior year summer) :
- AP Chem
- APUSH
- Chem Honors
- Precalculus Honors
- Spanish 4 Honors
- 4 Community College Classes in Computer Science
ECs:

Do I have a chance?
Assuming you’ve completed the You are a solid candidate for those UCs. Your GPA is light but, your test scores and ECs will probably make up for that. Be sure to apply more broadly though - include CSULB, SDSU and Chico up north . All the schools you list are competitive, especially for CS.
You might want to apply undeclared - especially to UCI and UCSB.
Good luck.
Only weakness is your GPA. I think your in though with those SAT scores
I have some C’s in my Math and Science classes. Will that affect my chances to get into a Comp Sci major?
But I have also improved and now have a B in my Precalculus Honors and AP Chem classes
To be completely honest with you, to be admitted to a competitive and impacted major such as computer science with a relatively low gpa and weak areas and science and math is next to impossible (but totally feasible!) Try to direct your ec’s to STEM related fields and attempt to win a few math and science awards (nothing too major… regionals or preliminary are more than enough) so you can become more competitive. You definitely have a shot at schools like UCR but UCSB is know for their engineering. However, your demonstrated interest for computer science (community college classes) will be a plus and something that will help you stand out from the rest of the engineering applicants. Good luck, though!
Your GPA isn’t a plus, but until you have actual standardized test results no one can provide a reasonable – no less an authoritative – opinion regarding your admission probability. Incidentally, “I should score,” or “I want to score,” or “I intend to score,” or “my pre-test were,” and so forth really are meaningless.
Until you get an official SAT score, speculating on your chances is useless. Your UC GPA will hurt you for most of the UC’s on your list with the exception of UCR. Since you are applying to a competitive major, your Stats need to be above the average. For UCSB/UCI and UCSC, your GPA is below the average along with some C’s, which will be detrimental to your application. EC’s and essays will also contribute to your application review, so they can give a boost but by how much???
You need to have some safeties and solid matches on your list. I would consider some of the Cal States such as SDSU/CSULB/CSUF and CPP if you are a California resident. When you get your SAT, repost and posters can re-evaluate your chances. Good Luck.
