A Last Chance..

So I've gotten rejected to both UCD and UCSC so far, and I'm now wondering what my chance of getting into UCI is.
I'm aware that UCSC is a lower-tier school and that getting rejected from there must mean something, but I know of instances where people have gotten rejected from lower-tier and accepted to higher-tier schools.

My info:

Major: Undeclared
Ethnicity: Chinese/Filipino/Spanish

UC GPA W: 3.9
SAT: 1740 (620 CR 560 M 560 W)
ACT: 25

Current APs:
AP Gov/Econ
AP Eng 4
AP Statistics
AP Psyschology

EC:
FBLA - 3 yrs
HOSA - 2 yrs
LIFE - 2 yrs

Awards:
4th place FBLA Marketing @ Section competition
Poom Certificate for Tae Kwon Do (Black belt)

40+ hrs of community service towards AYSO, Food and Wine Festival for Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families, Food Forward, and the Food Pantry

Strong essays (evaluated by a doctor)
Prompt 1: I described my desire to pursue a career in the health industry, and my family background (Despite my parents' divorce, I persevered and continued to respect them).
Prompt 2: I discussed my very first trip to Indonesia, the country of my roots. I talked about stepping into a new world and described my reaction to it.

UCI has actually been my #1 for a while now, so I really hope that I'll be able to make it in. I'd appreciate any input that you guys can offer me =]

I accidently re-posted this, but I can’t remove it -.-

I got into UCSC with lower stats than yours! (UCSC is my top school and UCI is my 4th choice)
My GPA is 3.75
And my SAT is 1700

I think you got a chance. My friend made it into UCI with a GPA of 3.8 and an SAT of 1850 but she doesn’t have any extracurricular (but you do!)
I did not get anything from UCI yet…

@Steponme111 I’m glad you made it to your top school =] and thank you so much for your input. It makes me feel a lot better.

I’m guessing the primary reason you keep getting rejected is your test scores. 2 of your SAT sections are below 600, a very noncompetitive score. Good luck though…

I have the same situation as yours. I have been rejected by sb, sc, sd, and davis. I am really surprised that ucsc rejected me… uci is my last chance in university of california. My sat is 1860 (CR:540, M:770, W:550), IB 32/33 (i haven’t take final exams) and my intended major is 1)computer science 2)computer engineering. Maybe both of them are competitive majors in uci.

Anyway, hope both of us could be accepted by uci, good luck!

I’m in the same situation as well. 3.91 UC GPA and a 1980 sat (710 math 640 CR) and rejected to UCD, UCSB, and UCSD. I got into UCSC and UCR but i was surprised that I got rejected from so many schools. I only have UCI and UCLA and I know UCLA is a FAR reach so UCI is my last hope

We were also surprised that our son was rejected by SLO, UCD, UCSB, and UCSD…all of these he had applied Chemical Engineering 'cept SLO was Materials. Yesterday he was accepted at UCSC in Computer Engineering. Assuming now the ChemE was majorly impacted at the others. Still waiting on UCI (and UCLA and Cal but those are reaches).

@mparker3512 In the same boat did you apply to any Cal States?

Yeah cal poly for computer engineering but I was rejected as well

@iamchickaddd
What was your son’s stats? I got rejected from all the schools with ChemE as well.
