lol got it today...
I flipped out and heart attacked for about 2 seconds before remembering that this has been discussed already on this forum...
thank goodness for CC!!! lol

got it today.

i got mine way back in november when i submitted my apps...for RD.
yeah, it was really early...so i've been waiting since november.

march 29th is going to suck. anyone even planning to go to school?
i know the process for me to even pump up enough courage to check online will be...well, quite long.

good luck!!

I second that "thank goodness for CC." My son rec'ed the same letter today, and first when he saw it was a thin letter, thought it was a rejection. I told him it is nothing, don't worry. But he agreed that the first line was very misleading. Thanks for posting this thread!

Ha, yeah, I had the same exact reaction: thin envelope=bad. It didn't help that my father woke me up from a nap to open the letter; I was all discombobulated.

Argh.

I can't take this anymore.

Btw if it was a thin envelope it could've been a likely letter (even though Penn doesn't do them). That's what I thought. I saw the first few words, then skipped down to the login ID and was like ehhhh... haha why would they do that to us?!

yeahh my friend said that was evil of them.. he suggested like a postcard.. but i guess then, you'd run into the problem of confidentiality...

PS this is my 1000th post!! lol I had to have it be on Penn's thread :)

omg i didnt get the letter yet! is that bad?....

I got that today. My mom told me when I got home "you got a thin (she put a big emphasis on the thin) from the Penn admissions office." I was stunned and nervous about opening it. Then, I opened it up and realized it was just password and account information and I laughed. The admissions office probably thinks this is funny, too.

I STILL didn't get a letter from UPenn about login info. When I called a while ago they said the middle of March, which it now is! UGH.

Leibnizrocks: I love your name, even if I'm a Newton girl myself.

Don't worry. We are in NJ and just rec'ed it today.

haha thanks.....maybe for cali kids it takes longer......hmm....

I have no letter... (in VA)

i just got mine today and i'm from ct, just be patient. i swear it's worse to have the letter sitting on the table without being able to know the decision

Maryland and recieved it today.

yeah i got really angry that they congratulated me for what nothing.
but i kinda realized when it said dont throw it away, and as always before reading the letter i looked down and saw it had the id and password so eh, but yes the first part got me angry.

I loved how they said they have "exciting news"...which is that you can check it online.

way to get my hopes up.

Totally the MEANEST LETTER EVER! I showed it to my friends and they completely agreed--people at the admissions office must've put in the teaser opening line of "exciting news" just to make us all quake in our boots.

Granted, I didn't expect a ton since I knew Penn didn't send out likelies, but.. still. Totally had me all excited for a split second, that's for sure.

Course, I still <333 Penn anyways, even if their letter was cruel. XD

for everyone who is nervous about not having recieved their PIN and password yet, you can always go onto the decisions page on the penn website and have it e-mailed to you. that's what i did for the ed round, but you will definitely get the letter (mine came like a week before decisions).
