A little advise for the future

Hey all,

I'm graduating this year and really want to attend NYU CAS, I have an A average, started a foreign language club, vice president for the math club, good class rank, etc.
but the only thing bringing all of this to a halt is my SAT scores.
I'm pretty bashful of the CR and writing, but my math was a 600 (= meh)

I was wondering if it was possible to go to someplace like Stony brook, Rutgers, or even Brooklyn college for a year and then transfer out into Nyu. What type of a GPA would I need? Any Honors? Any EC's? And would I need to retake the SAT or any subject tests? Any tips would be greatly appreciated especially if someone mentioned financial aid for transfers.

What’s difficult about transferring up after 1 year is that when you apply, you will have only completed 1 semester of college work, so your HS record (gpa & rigor of coursework) and test scores will be weighted more. If you attend college for 2 yrs and apply as a jr transfer, more weight will be given to what you have accomplished in college.

See the Transfer 101 sticky thread at the top of this forum for general information about transferring.

Whenever you are thinking about applying to a school, the first stop for information about testing and other requirements should always be the college website:

NYU is well know for it’s poor FA for both fr and transfer students.

If you’re worried about the SATs, just retake them. You still have lots of time.
