I'm from Romania and here we don't have a school counselor, so I asked a teacher to help me with the common app forms, but we don't know what we're supposed to do. Firstly, in the school report, the first section refers to the name of the student ,or the school ? What about the GPA ? Here we get marks from 1 to 10. I also have a big problem with the school profile, do we fill in just the grey rectangle for international schools? Also, what is the midyear and final year report?
I hope I'm asking for too much, but i would really appreciate your help.

Midyear report: whatever grades or report or results you got before February. Must be uploaded then.
Final report: uploaded after you’ve chosen your college and finished your school year. Guarantees you didn’t get expelled and passed.
School profile: how competitive is your school - does it admit anyone who shows up, have their been trackng decisions, is there an exam or are prior specific grades required to access the school? Compared to ALL students in the 16-19 age group, regardless of track or school, how good would those at your school be? (if it’s an academic school where 99% are expected to attend college and get a bachelor’s degree, it’s likely your classmates would all be top 30%, top 20%… academically in the age group?) What do the numbers mean in the context of your school - What percentage students in your school get 8-10? 7.5? 7? 6.5? 6? 5? 4? 3? 2? 0-1? What score results in honors? what grade results in ranking in the top 10% nationally? top 5% nationally? top 1% nationally? top 10% regionally? top 20% regionally?..does your school have grade deflation or inflation - ie., if someone gets a 6 at your school, can they expect a 7 or 8 for national exams (= your school has grade deflation, -2pts), a 5 for national exams (your school has grade inflation)? Does your school have “excellence” areas or tracks or pathways - which ones and are you enrolled in them? did you have to get a special dispensation to get into some of the classes you’re in , because you’re more advanced/doing more than would be expected even among academically strong students?

This is an example of a school profile:

<a href=“Sample High School Profile – Counselors | College Board”>http://professionals.collegeboard.com/guidance/counseling/profile/sample

On the school report, the first line is your name.

Unless a school specifically requests otherwise, list GPA on a 10 point scale.

Hey, I’m also from Romania and I completed the forms a couple of months ago. PM me if you have any questions :)
