Hi i'm an international student and i want to apply for wharton.
i know it's like reaching for the stars but i still wanna give it a shot...

i took the sat and i got CR 660 Math 800 Writing 620 total 2080
i know it's not great :(
760 on Math 2 and 730 on physics, I plan to retake them

my GPA should be around 4 considering the special ways our school gives out grades.
I'm in the top 3% of our school. And our school is the best high school in the nation.
(PS How can I make colleges realize that? since our high school transcript doen't give out rankings?)

I volunteer at the national musem for about 120 hours
was a volunteer for stray animals, and also tutored other students

keyboard player in a rock band for two years, numerous speech and writing contests, badminton comtests, participated in international symposiums...

my teachers say that my essays are good but i'm not that sure.

I was wondering if I have a chance or not... Thank you and please be free to leave any suggestions!!

I would say that other than your grades being rather uncompetitive for wharton, your ECs do not look outstanding or show you furthering your passions. Try to improve your SATs and work towards increasing the amount of business-related extracurriculars. That being said, the teacher recommendations and essays are important too, so make sure that you research thoroughly into the school and what attracts you to it. Try to have a positive relationship with your teachers and school counselor too. However, if you are applying this year, the odds are stacked against you. Still, if Penn is where you want to go, just apply.

Thank you for your kind advice, though I have some additional questions I hope you can answer…
- Do universities take into account that some countries do not provide students with enough extracurricular activities and work opportunities?
2)when universities say that they seek for “passionate” students, does the passion has to be academic-related or it’s okay if it’s about other stuff, too?
Thank you very much :)

Well, for the first question, I’m not too sure about it. Which country are you from? I think the best way to resolve this question will be to email the International Admissions office at intl@admissions.upenn.edu

Your passions are not limited to academic related ones. It can be a sport, hobby or interest - just about anything.

Thank you once again
so do I just e-mail the admissions office or also add it to my additional information?

add it to your additional information
